As I write this first note to you, I am feeling gratitude and a sense of joy and anticipation. Beginning a ministry alongside you as your quarter-time minister, I wonder where we will be called and invited to go together, and who we will become. I am looking forward to our shared ministry.

As my time with KUUF as your bridge minister draws to a close, I leave knowing that this vibrant and healthy congregation is in good hands. Last February, when I stepped into this temporary ministry, your amazing leadership – the staff, the board and all the committees and teams – brought me up to speed on what I needed to know to make the transition from Rev. Jessica’s ministry as seamless as possible. I am very grateful to her for developing, with all of you, such a dynamic shared ministry. I want to thank everyone for the many ways you have collaborated with each other and with me to make sure this beloved spiritual community is open and welcoming to newcomers as well as long-time members. And you have done all of this even as the persistent COVID pandemic continues to impact our communities.

This Sunday, the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations concludes the 2022 General Assembly, this year in Portland, Oregon. Even though not everyone can attend General Assembly in person, each of us can be part of the Sunday worship service, either in your home or at the watch party at the Fellowship. Either way, you will not want to miss the opportunity to experience outstanding preaching and the GA choir’s amazing music.
